John S. Urse, D. O., F.A.O.A.O.

Dr. Urse is board certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Osteopathic Association. He is a past President and Vice-President of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics (AOAO).

Dr. Urse has a B.S. Degree from Ohio State University. Dr. Urse earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1982.

Special areas of interest for Dr. Urse include arthroscopic shoulder, knee, and hip surgery. He has had additional training in arthroscopic rotator cuff repair (since 2003) and arthroscopic hip surgery.

Dr. Urse utilizes state-of-the-art Computer-Assisted Navigation for total knee and total hip joint replacement surgery. He also makes use of the equipment for leg realignment (osteotomy) surgery. He has spoken to national audiences on Computer-Assisted lower extremity reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Urse has had articles published in the “Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma”, “Journal of Vascular Surgery”, “Journal of Arthroplasty”, and “Journal of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics.” Currently two articles are pending publication.
